Candy Cane Truffles and Peanut Butter Truffles

Another recipe from Your Cup of Cake, and a variation of it that I created! I made them while I watched my favorite holiday movie, White Christmas. 



Chocolate Candy Cane Truffles

4 oz cream cheese
1 cup chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet, but milk chocolate works too)
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp peppermint extract
1/3 cup crushed candy canes (You can use a food processor or a blender to crush them but, I put them in a Ziploc and smashed them with a rolling pin.)


1. Combine softened cream cheese and peppermint extract
2. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave; add to cream cheese mixture, along with powdered sugar; mix until well combined
3. Put mixture into the fridge for 15-30 minutes
4. Form chocolate mixture into small balls and roll in the crushed candy canes

Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffles

4 oz cream cheese
1 cup chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet, but milk chocolate works too)
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup peanut butter (I used chunky)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup chopped peanuts

1. Combine softened cream cheese and vanilla extract
2. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave; add to cream cheese mixture, along with powdered sugar; mix until well combined
3. Put mixture into the fridge for 15-30 minutes
4. Form chocolate mixture into small balls and roll in the chopped peanuts
